Plant Culture

Mount Pleasant Eco Park

Workshops 2021 & 2022

The fermentation of plant material goes hand in hand with a decolonial way of thinking. Allowing plants to lead us into a way of being that challenges and exceeds consumerist, colonial mindsets.

Fermenting plants is alchemical, DIY, healthy, tender, self sufficient, echoing traditional survival techniques and hand held knowledge of the past across cultures. It is sensitive and political because of it.

Sharing how food straps, fruit and vegetables and foraged edibles can be easily transformed into preserved foods to be enjoyed off season is a very enjoyable process. I enjoy promoting a hunger for play and for environmentally friendly concepts, sharing how easy it can be to create home made health, reduce spending as the cost of  living rises and bring pleasure and curiosity into seemingly small efforts.

Fermenting and Pickling experiments created over the year of 2021 throughout the seasons, using foraged, grown and bought vegetables.
